Pattern Upscaler

Take a pattern that only looks right on screen and enlarge it until it is big enough to print.

Upscale a pattern →

A pattern upscaler adds real pixels to a design so it can be printed larger than the file allows. Ordinary resizing just stretches what is there, which turns fine linework, yarn texture and print dots into mush. Textile Designer AI rebuilds those textile details as it enlarges, at 2x, 4x or 8x, and writes the print DPI into the file it returns. That makes it a practical way to rescue archive artwork, enlarge a small swatch to full fabric width, or prepare a print-on-demand file that would otherwise be rejected for low resolution.

Real-World Use Cases

Print-on-demand sellers

Lift artwork above the minimum resolution that fabric, wallpaper and gift-wrap printers ask for, without redrawing it by hand.

Surface pattern designers

Bring older portfolio pieces and scans up to licensing size so they can be offered for larger products like bedding and curtains.

Mills and print houses

Turn a buyer reference or a decade-old 72 DPI archive file into something large enough to go to production at full width.

How It Works

1

Upload the pattern

PNG, JPEG, TIFF or PSD, up to 20 MB and 8192 px per side. A scan, an archive file or a small swatch all work.

2

Pick the enlargement

Choose 2x, 4x or 8x. The higher the scale, the more detail the tool has to rebuild.

3

Check at 100% and download

Zoom in on the result before you export, then download the file with its print DPI already set.

Key Features

Up to 8x larger

A 1000 by 1000 px pattern can come back at 8000 by 8000 px, enough for wide fabric and wallpaper panels.

Built for textile detail

Weave structure, yarn texture and print dots are reconstructed as the image grows, instead of being smoothed away.

Print DPI in the file

The output carries its DPI, so your RIP or print service reads the intended size without extra steps.

Several designs per session

Work through a folder of patterns one after another without leaving the tool.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a pattern upscaler do that resizing does not?

Resizing in an image editor spreads the existing pixels over a bigger area, so edges blur and texture disappears. An AI pattern upscaler rebuilds detail at the new size, so lines stay crisp and fabric texture survives the enlargement.

How big can I make my pattern?

Up to 8 times the width and height of the file you upload. A 1000 px wide pattern can come back 8000 px wide.

Should I use Super Scaler or Ready to Print?

Use Super Scaler when you need a large enlargement with strong detail recovery, up to 8x. Ready to Print goes up to 4x and adds creativity and resemblance sliders for balancing enhancement against staying close to the original. Both are on the Textile Designer AI features page.

My pattern is blurry, not just small. Will this fix it?

Upscaling works best on files that are sharp but too small. If the source is soft or out of focus, run Anti Blur first to restore edges, then enlarge the cleaned file.
